Step 1: Log into your Eqvista account and choose the company profile that you want to add the shareholder in. You can create multiple company profiles on Eqvista based on the number of companies you own. You would need to select the company that you want to add the shareholder to.
Once you log into your account and select the company profile, you would reach the dashboard of your company as shown below.
Here, click on “Shareholders” on the left-hand side panel of the dashboard.
Step 2: By clicking on “Shareholders”, you would be directed to the next page as below.
On this page, click on the “Add Shareholder” button on the top right side of the dashboard.
Step 3: Once you click on the “Add Shareholder” button, a pop-up window will appear where you would have to add in the details of the person. In this case, it would be the details of the investor:
Step 4: Once you are done with selecting the right options and filling in all the appropriate details, click on “Save”.
Step 5: As soon as you click on “Save”, you would be directed to the following page. Here, you would be able to see the shareholder that you just added along with every other shareholder profile in the company. You can then begin the process of issuing shares to them. As mentioned above, there are two ways by which you can add a shareholder’s profile in Eqvista. Let us say that you forget to create a new shareholder and move straight to issuing the shares to the person. In this, you can also add a shareholder with the following steps.
Step 1: Once you are on the dashboard of the application, click the “Securities” option from the left-hand side panel of the dashboard. A drop down menu will appear. Click on “Equity Share Class” from here as shown below.
Step 2: Once you click on this, you would be directed to the following page.
Here, you would be able to see all the available equity classes in the company. Select the one that you want to issue the shares from. In this case, we clicked on “Class A”.
Step 3: By clicking on the equity class name, you would reach the page that shows all the details of the equity class. Here, click on “Issue Shares”.
Step 4: You would be directed to the next page where you first need to select the equity name, and after that you would get an option to “Add a Shareholder”. Once you click on that, a drop down page appears for adding the shareholder you want to issue the shares to.
Here, we selected “Class A” and then clicked on “Add a Shareholder”.
Step 5: By clicking on the option to “Add a Shareholder”, the drop down page appeared as shown below.
From here, click on the shareholder name field to select the shareholder you want to issue the shares to. But since the shareholder hasn’t been added yet, you would have to select the option to “Create new shareholder” as shown above.
Step 6: Once you do this, a new drop down page would appear as shown below.
Fill in all the details of the shareholder who you want to add and issue shares to them at the same time under this form as shared above.
You would need to add details like the first name, last name, email address, the shareholder’s role, the date of issuance, the number of shares issued, the price per share, and the share name (certificate name/number). In the end, you would also have to select if there is a vesting schedule or not. Once you have done this, click on “Submit”.
In short, you can easily add the shareholder and issue the shares to them at the same time with the second method.
