Here is a guide to help you understand how to view the dashboard and use it on Eqvista.
Step 1: Once you are logged into your Eqvista account and selected a company, you will be directed to the main dashboard. On this main page, you will find some shortcuts that will help you with your cap table, as well as your company’s timeline. You can easily manage your cap table right from the dashboard of the app. Here is how the page would look like.
Let us talk about each part of the dashboard.
On the top left side of the page, you will be able to see a graph on the ownership of the company that says “Ownership %”. Under the heading, a graph shows which equity makes up how much of the company’s ownership. There is also a button that says “Issue” and by clicking on it, a drop down option comes up as “from Shares”.
You can issue shares from this panel on the Dashboard instead of using the longer method.
Additionally, there is a link below the graph that says, “View Detail Overview”. By clicking on this, you will reach the page that shows you an overview of all the shares and equity classes in the company, as below.
From here, you can issue the shares, create new equities, edit the old equity classes, and view all that has been done under the ownership.

Moving to the next part of the dashboard, there is a panel for “Authorized Shares Usage” on the top right side of the page as shown below.
In this part of the page, you will be able to see the details of all the authorized shares in the company, along with the percentage of shares added for each class, and what percentage of shares are left. There is also a button on the top right side of the panel that says “New Shares”. By clicking on this, a drop down menu will appear as shown below.
The options and what they mean are explained below:
- Equity Share Class: Under this option, you will be taken to a page where you can easily add a new equity share class.
- Warrant: By selecting this, you will be taken to a page where you can create a warrant that can be issued to a shareholder later on.
- Option Pool: If you choose this option, you will be taken to a page where you can create an option pool and issue options to the employee in the company.
- Convertible Instrument: This option would permit you to create a convertible instrument like the KISS or SAFE.
Other than these options, you can also click on the link below the graph that says, “View Summary Overview”. This would take you to the following page to see the summary view of the company’s cap table.

The next panel on the dashboard is the details of the “Shareholders”, as below.
Under this part of the dashboard, you will find all the details of the shareholders like the names, the kind of equity they hold, the percentage of ownership they have and the number of shares they have been issued.
In addition to this, Eqvista has made it easy to add more shareholders with an “Add Shareholder” button at the top of the list of shareholders. By clicking on this, you will be directed to a page where you can easily add a shareholder profile and move ahead to issue shares to them.

Under the shareholder’s panel is a space where you are given suggestions about what else you can do with Eqvista to create your cap table. The panel is displayed as below.
This section has advice that can help you grow your cap table and even lets you know if you have missed out on something.
But that is not all. At the end of all the advice, there is a link saying “Use our guides to understand more”. By clicking on this, it will take you to the knowledge base center. Here, you will find guides that would help you understand more about the various details of a cap table.
The next panel tells you what Eqvista can do. This is how it looks like

The last panel on the dashboard is the timeline where you can see the details of most of the important actions from the time you created the company until now as shown below.
Other than this, you can also expand the timeline by clicking on the button at the top of the panel that says “View Full Timeline”.
This is an expanded timeline. Here, you will be able to view all the actions taken in the company including the number of shares authorized, the people who received shares and how much they have received, the number of shares reserved in equity classes and more.
Also, you can click on any of the words in blue from here. You will then be directed to a page to the source of that action. For instance, we clicked on “Class A” as shown below.
By doing this, we were directed to the following page.
This is the page that details everything about the equity class “Class A” like the number of shares in the class, the number issued shares, the shareholder, how many are left and so on.
Just like this, if you click on any blue word or phrase from the timeline, you will be directed to the page related to the word/phrase. You can manage and handle everything of your cap table right from the timeline and dashboard without much hassle.
